Nail Printing

Process Steps

Here are the basic steps for applying nail art using the ImagiNail digital nail printing system.  For an experienced nail technician, the entire process takes about 10 to 12 minutes.  Consider this; if you charge $20 for a full set of nails, you're looking at a rate of $80 to $100 per hour.

  1. Prepare client's nails as you normally would for a standard, single color nail polish application.

  2. For nature nails, apply a thin layer of Base Coat.  If the nails are not natural (acrylic, gel, etc.) then you do not need to apply the Base Coat.

  3. Apply the Canvas Coating.  This polish is formulated with an image enhancer that allows the camera to determine the size and location of each nail.  The software then automatically sizes and shapes the images to fit perfectly on each fingernail.

  4. Apply a thin layer of Image Recptive Coating (IRC).  This water based solution is also applied to the cuticle around the nail to make the cleaning of overspray quick and easy.

  5. Place the client's hands in the NailJet Pro and print the images.  Here we assume the nail art was selected before beginning the process.

  6. Apply at least one (preferably two) layers of top coat to seal the images and protect them from moisture, abrasion, and damage.

That's all there is to it!  Apply the coatings, wait for them to dry, and print the images onto the fingernails.
